Our History with them
My history with DVR's for CCTV started in the mid to late 90's.
While attending ISC West, a Security Conference and Seminar in Las Vegas, Nevada. I met and individual working for 3R Technologies out of Seoul, Korea. They were introducing their new CCTV DVR line, which used a computer hard drive to store images. I'd always thought it would be a great way to work with video but the size of the files I was use to seeing was enormous. This made it way to expensive for a 40 GB hard drive cost over $300 then and wouldn't hold over a day or two of recording at best. The individual explained that their company had invented and patented a compression algorithm that compressed each frame to under 2k. This really got my attention, because it would make the file size usable for a PC based system (no more tapes!).
Click on the DVR link at the bottom of the page to see a simple web page and know the DVR is working. We do this for all customers that have there DVR's setup for internet access, so they'll know the system is running. This DVR can be controlled when accessed from the internet. You can view real time video or select the archives to see what it has recorded.
Prospective customers will be given specific instructions for a live demo with Pan, Tilt, Zoom control of our cameras.
